^This is my favorite shell I found on the beach, and the only one like it I saw. It's extremely delicate and I'm lucky it wasn't broken into a million bits. It even survived the trip home wrapped in toilet paper.

^These little shells are all over the place, and so are the hermit crabs that like to live in them. Whenever I found a shell that I wanted to take home I had to set it down on the sand for a while, just to make sure it wouldn't suddenly sprout legs and walk away. I could usually tell if there was a crab, but sometimes they hide really far back in the shell.

Conch shells are also prevalent. I saw a lot of them used as decorations and in landscaping.
